SLODOCO
Today's post is brought to you by a chocolate chip devil's food donut and a decaf latte.
The donut was great--not too heavy, not too dry, lots of chocolate. The latte is ok. Blackhorse is better. I don't know why I am writing this small--maybe so if the SLODOCO people are reading this, they won't disapprove.
I haven't been here in a long time, but as I am getting my own internet soon (wooooo!) I figured I should take advantage of donuts with my internet while I can.
The wedding fast approaches. Tomorrow is my last day of work at Mission View as a single person.
You guys, I so look forward to getting married. I have rarely wanted anything more.
That being said, I feel like the frantic excitement of one-month-to-go and even three-weeks-left has mellowed as we've passed two weeks on the countdown. I said in my last post that 17 days was a conceivable amount of time to wait for something. Two weeks is even more so. Two weeks is more than conceivable--it is imaginable. I can picture most of the twelve days now left. Tomorrow I will go to work. Sunday I will go to GraceSLO and play with the babies. Monday I will drive home. Next Friday wedding people begin arriving--and the wedding weekend begins! Maybe because I can picture some of what each day will hold, I can't speed it up anymore in my head, because I get stuck on what has to be done :) I knew that it would accelerate toward the end, but now I can actually feel it, and unlike a few weeks ago, I don't want to accelerate it anymore. It will come, I am content to ride it out.

Reliving my Spain days
Because I haven't set up internet in my new place yet, I've been enjoying various cafés and their wifi. (Different from Spain in that in most instances, I cannot order a glass of wine haha) Today's coffee shop is Black Horse. And it is a good morning to enjoy coffee, because as you can see, it's kind of gray and misty outside.
The countdown is 17 days until the wedding :) Unreal, because that is a conceivable amount of time to wait for something. You order something in the mail and it might take longer than that!
I'm in the process of setting up our house for next year. It has been fun making it a home. When it is actually unpacked I'll put up some pictures of my favorite parts. Right now it is unpacked enough to be functional, but not enough to not look like a mess.
And I just spilled coffee on myself.

It is suddenly winter.

| See? Winter hat |
Enough about the weather then. I have two classes left today and then I'm done with class for the quarter--just finals left. Hooray! And I turned in my last assignment a few hours ago, so now I just have to go to class and listen. Just remembered I have one more assignment due finals week. But it's a small one.
Also, remember how I am having job turnover next quarter? I applied for a job at the sandwich place on campus--still waiting to hear back.
Then I got an email with this flyer in it:
This--helping people understand nutrition so they are empowered to make choices for their own health--is exactly what I want to do. And if I can use my Spanish too, that is extra bonus.
But then there's this:
So not for now. But then I got an email seeking Spanish speaking nutrition students to assist with a research study on childhood obesity prevention: "these students will help with the recruitment of participants, note taking during the educational group discussions, and inputting data from questionnaires" and " this is a paid position." So, nothing is certain, but this may be part of my employment next quarter.

My favorite new YouTube series is Good Mythical Morning by Rhett and Link. It's how I've been wasting time lately. They're a couple of guys who have been friends since they were six and now they make videos on YouTube. They just made this new video, which I approve of. But Good Mythical Morning is their daily talk show where they discuss a range of topics. Some are somewhat serious (how to overcome shyness), most silly (14 words the English language needs), but whatever it is, they have really good chemistry are generally clean and make me laugh often.
Nicole and I got a Christmas tree! See?
When I brought it home, it made my car smell really nice.
And now. It's the weekend!

Another cute baby video guys!
Indeed. I am not a faithful blogger. I enjoy writing and sharing with you all, but my perfectionistic tendencies make me want to make each post really really good (and time consuming I guess) so they just never get written.
But this made me laugh really hard so I wanted to share it with you.

Also, it is week 8. I just finished some homework about the digestive system, which my textbook says is technically outside the body because it is open on both ends. Still pondering this.
Metabolism is great. I now am very familiar with a multitude of reasons of why you should eat fiber. I have officially put in my notice of resignation at my babysitting job and have lost my piano lesson job. So next quarter will be different. I've already picked my classes. Oddly enough, I have been not really stressed about school this quarter. In fact my stress level is almost dangerously low to the fact that I almost don't care if things get done. But thank God, and I have good friends to study with (well mainly Stephanie :) and somehow I'm doing alright. I'm guessing its because I'm just so full of other things to do. School just seems. . . less in proportion.
Nicole and I made pumpkin pie last weekend! We've decided that cooking pumpkin from scratch is not worth it.
This is one of the songs I'm liking recently.
Dylan's dad came to visit last week. It was really good to meet him. And we went surfing!
And Dylan bought me a surfboard for my early Christmas present guys! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
Only 41 days until Christmas! And 14 days until Thanksgiving!
Today's thankfulness specialty: my bike because it's saving me money on parking (and gas I guess), gives me a little workout every morning and is a generally reliable form of transportation for quickly getting to class or as I have now tested out, to Shelby's house!

This just overheard in the Kennedy library. . .
"...so we should just skip Bane and the Stormtrooper answering phones. . ."

| Also, see that I got one of the comfy red leather chairs today. One of the advantages of having early class! |

The first "cold" day
It's not actually cold. But I am. It rained today. The first rain of the season. Rode my bike to school through the sprinkle.
It was nice actually and made it feel like fall :) But it also made me want to stay at home and bake and just sit under blankets and drink tea.
I went to work instead.
Nicole and I are officially doing homework now, except that I'm blogging instead. We are both very excited to sleep.
Please pray that I am not ungrateful or unmindful of God in all this, as I've seen some striking pictures of this recently.
Thank God that I am still healthy and sane :)
Oh! Also we got to see our first cadaver today!
